Taxiway A and East Ramp

Doylestown Airport

Airport Pavement Rehabilitation Project Schedule

Taxiways and East Ramp

The Bucks County Airport Authority has received a PennDOT Capital Budget Grant to perform crack sealing and pavement repairs at the Doylestown Airport. The Contractor for the project will be GoreCon, Inc. and they plan to start construction on the project on Tuesday, November 9, weather permitting. The work for this project will include the parallel Taxiway A from Runway 5 to Runway 23, and the Access Taxiways C and E. Work will also be completed on the East Ramp around the K and L Hangars, and around the access taxilanes. No work will be completed in the paved tiedown areas or between the portable hangars. The total contract time for this work is 14 calendar days, but that is entirely dependent on weather. The work will be done during daylight hours and it is the goal of the Authority and GoreCon to reopen all areas of pavement at the end of each workday. Additionally, it is possible that work will be occurring on both the Taxiways and the East Ramp at the same time. Areas of work will be closed off to Aircraft traffic using low-profile or bucket barricades and traffic barricades. Please do not move any of the barricades during construction.

The Project has been divided into six (6) phases, three (3) for the taxiways and three (3) for the East Ramp. A Map is included with this Summary showing the phases of work. The phases are as follows:

Update 1 -- Tuesday, November 9th, crack sealing begins about 10am on the shallow cracks on the K Hangar Apron. No appreciable delays are anticipated.

Update 2 - Wednesday, November 10th, crack sealing will continue on the East Ramp. The East Ramp should be finished today and the contractor will transition to Taxiway A on Thursday. This is all shallow depth sealing. No full-depth repairs will be started until next week. We also anticipate losing a work day Friday due to weather.

Update 3 - 11/11/2021 Doylestown Airport Construction Hangar Impacts - IMPORTANT!

PAVEMENT REHABILITATION UPDATE

The pavement rehabilitation project in your hangar area is going well and we thank you for all your cooperation.

It will continue on the East Ramp next week and some of the areas will not be accessible during the times of 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM.

Plans as of today are that on Wednesday, November 17th the contractor will be doing full depth repairs around the L hangar building, this also impacts the even numbered P hangars. There will be five (5) hangars that the aircraft will need to be taken out of the hangar and the bifold door left open. This will allow the repairs to be done in the best way possible. The five hangars that will have to be emptied and opened are: L4, L6, L10, L11 and L12. We have hard surface tie-downs available both on the East Ramp and along the taxiway.

On Thursday, November 18th, hangars in the K building that will need to be emptied and open are K7, K14, K15, K20, K22, and K23. All other K hangars will not be accessible during the construction time.

We will contact you by email should these dates change for any reason. If you are not able to move your aircraft and would like Leading Edge Aviation to please contact them directly.

We ask that you contact the office by email at colleen.raterman@bcaanet.org or phone at 215-345-1970 to confirm receipt of this email and to answer any questions you may have.
