Doylestown Airport Picnic Honors the Service of Three Local Fire Companies
DOYLESTOWN, PA – Every year since 2000, the Bucks County Airport Authority (BCAA) and Doylestown Pilot Association (DPA) have hosted a picnic in honor of a local volunteer organization that has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the community. This year, BCAA and DPA chose to honor not one, but three organizations, Doylestown Fire Company #1, Milford Township Fire Department and Midway Volunteer Fire Company.
“When you consider all that these three fire companies do for our community, it’s only fitting that they be recognized,” says Allen Black, Chairman of the BCAA Board. “Through this picnic we were able to show our appreciation for the fire fighter’s selfless service while giving them a nice evening out.”
The picnic drew dozens of local fire fighters and their families who turned out to enjoy good food, free airplane rides, camaraderie and near perfect weather. Past honorees of this picnic have included Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, Family Service of Bucks County, Central Bucks Ambulance and Angel Flights.
“We really enjoy the chance that this annual picnic affords us to personally thank the various community organizations,” says Michael Junod, Vice President of the Doylestown Pilot Association. “Groups such as Doylestown Fire Company #1, Milford Township Fire Department and Midway Volunteer Fire Company really make this a great place to live.”
